Highlights
Today we had our elder, Sakokotoo, visit our pod. He shared stories of old and stories of new, focusing especially on the land and how resourceful it is. Students had a chance to reflect on this experience.
In math we looked at how to show different strategies. Students are realizing that just writing an answer is not enough and that it's important for others to see how they got to their answer. It's also important to learn a variety of strategies so we can learn new ways to become more efficient in solving problems.
The afternoon included writing. Students looked at "I can..." statements to help them see what is expected in writing for their grade. They had a tough time understanding that not all the boxes should be checked at this point! We have a whole school year to learn all of this!
